The 5 Best Restaurants In Praslin, Seychelles

From The Authors: Gaelle was born and raised in the Seychelles while Viktor has been living here for 1+ year. Unlike many other travel blogs, we actually have first-hand knowledge and experience of the places we write about. If you have any questions, we respond quickly to comments!

Touched down in Praslin for a few days and ready to explore its culinary highlights?

In this article, we’ll cover the 5 best restaurants that Praslin, the Seychelles’ second largest island, has to offer.

The restaurants themselves aren’t ranked as we do believe that all of the ones listed here are equally appealing and ultimately come down to the type of cuisine and experience you feel like having.

The Nest

The Nest is probably one of the most unique dining experiences that we’ve experienced in over 50 combined countries of travel thus far.

It is nested (no pun intended) on a small hill overlooking the private Petite Anse Kerlan beach, which is part of the Constance Lemuria resort (as shown in the title image of this post).

While prices are certainly not cheap, it’s compensated by great service and views. Plus, the food is nothing to scoff at either.

We do recommend to call and make a reservation before you go since the restaurant is frequently booked out.

You should also check out the nearby Anse Georgette beach as it’s one of the beautiful beaches both Praslin and the Seychelles have to offer.

Café des Arts

Café des Arts is one of our favorite restaurants in Praslin, in large parts thanks to the incredible shrimp fried rice they serve.

We’ve dined at Café des Artes three times already. The restaurant’s shaded areas and incredible ocean views make it a great hangout spot, especially during lunch time when the sun is strongest.

And at night, Café des Artes transforms into Tapas Lounge Bar, one of Praslin’s best nightlife options, where you can enjoy live music, watch sports, or smoke a shisha.

Leo’s Food Bus

Leo’s Food Bus also made it onto our favorite restaurants on Mahé, so you best believe that we’ll use any and every opportunity to promote it again.

That’s because their burgers, more precisely the Bacon Cheeseburger, is one of the tastiest we ever had. The Steak & Chips they serve are nothing to scoff at either.

Plus, the food is priced fairly, so you won’t have to break the bank. And since it’s located right on Cote D’Or beach (close to Cafe des Artes), it’s a great way to fuel up those batteries.

Lobster Bay

Lobster Bay is another Seychelles staple, being present both on Mahé and Praslin. Both restaurants stand out for the portion sizes they serve.

While we did not try their signature lobster dishes, the other seafood-related meals are super tasty as well.

Lobster Bay also runs ongoing promotions if you’re in the business for some booze.

Cool Licks

Cool Licks is a small takeaway venue located right next to the Praslin jetty, making it the perfect spot to eat before you check in for your Cat Cocos ferry.

Not only do they offer multiple dishes at any given time, but their alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are also priced very fairly given their proximity to the jetty.

And if you don’t have the time to eat in, simply take one of their delicious pre-cooked options on the go.
